Katsunori Harasawa (原澤 克徳 Harasawa Katsunori) is the coach of Tōō Academy.

Appearance[]

Harasawa is a middle-aged man with slightly curly black hair that reaches his lower neck and is parted on the right side.

He is known for dressing formal: a striped shirt, a tie and sometimes a costume vest.

Personality[]

Harasawa is a sharp and keen individual. As the coach of Tōō Academy, he cares much for victory and trains his players in order to win. He demands Daiki Aomine to not slack off and to play important matches such as against Kaijō High.[1] He has faith in his manager, Satsuki Momoi's analyzing ability.[2] He also has the habit of fidgeting and playing with his hair.

Some time before him coaching Tōō Academy, Harasawa and Kagetora Aida were acquainted and it seems that they knew each other quite well as Kagetora referred to Katsunori affectionately as Katt-chan.[3] It was later revealed that him, Kagetora, Genta Takeuchi, Masaaki Nakatani and Eiji Shirogane played on the same national Japanese team.

It was also hinted that Harasawa was the ace player of the national team.

Story[]

Interhigh preliminaries[]

Harasawa appears for the first time at the match between Seirin High and Tōō Academy. He is seen sitting on the bench and commenting on Seirin's strength while curling his hair. He then turns to Satsuki Momoi and confirms that she has successfully analyzed Seirin's attacking patterns.[2]

Winter Cup[]

Round 1[]

Harasawa appears alongside his team at the Winter Cup. During their match against Seirin High, he sat on the bench. When Taiga Kagami went up against Daiki Aomine, Harasawa deduces that his loss or win will determine the rest of the match.[4]

Etymology[]

  • The name Katsunori means "overcome" (克) (katsu) and "virtue, ethics" (徳) (nori).
  • Katsunori's surname Harasawa means "field, plain" (原) (hara) and "marsh" (澤) (sawa).
