Hello Bert, my name is Rain! Wikikinetic has resigned as Wiki Manager, so I’ll be taking over his duties. My job is to help and to be a liason between staff and the community. If you ever need any Fandom Staff assistance on this Wiki or need a feature enabled or just have feedback for the company, I’ll be happy to help you out.
Also, if you are fine with it, I would like to enable the community page feature on this wiki. You can read more about this feature here.
If you want to reach out to me, I'm RainA#0001 on Discord, or you can simply contact me on my message wall.
Hey Bere! About the affiliates, I think we should keep it. I agree it’s redundant but our ‘affiliates’ still have this wiki listed as one of their affiliates. And it’d obviously be too much of a hassle to ask each of them to remove us. Unless you’re fine with them continuing to list this wiki as an affiliate while we aren’t. If we decide to keep it, we can just deny any future affiliation requests.
Affiliates was a nice idea back in the day, it gave a sense of community, but nothing else really came of them. And now more than ever, I really think they don't mean anything at all anymore, which is why I thought they were unnecessary and cluttering the main page. They'll still be on our About page, it's really just the main page that I wanted to adjust.
Hey, I'm not sure if I'm right here, but I'm having a problem. I changed the layout of the lyrics on the above mentiones site and I'd like it if the references would be done properly, but I'm not really sure how to do it right. Like is there a certain order how the references have to be displayed?
Hi there! Sorry for intruding, but take a look at my edit - is that how you want them to be referenced? If not, feel free to revert or change my edit. On FANDOM wikis, we usually use the <ref> tag to reference information. Take a look at this page for more information.
You're welcome! I just used the <ref> tag formatting. Basically, you put <ref name="example">Reference information</ref> for the first reference, and for subsequent references of the same citation, you just put <ref name="example"/>. These citations will then appear in the References section at the bottom of the page. I'm not very good at explanations, but I hope this helps!
Yeah I was able to recreate it, the same thing happens when I try to edit. I'm thinking it's a bug in the classic Wikia editor. Wikia used to use the Rich Text Editor, the one you're using, where you can switch between visual mode and source mode. It's the visual mode from the RTE that seems to be bugged right now. You should go to your editing preferences and change your editor to either source mode (the bottom option) or the new VisualEditor (the top option). Kinda sucks cause you're probably used to editing via the RTE but it seems like it's gonna cause problems if you don't switch.
