Tōru Sekiguchi (関口 徹, Sekiguchi Tōru) was a third year and a small forward of Teikō Junior High's first string.
Appearance[]
Sekiguchi has short, spiky blond hair and blue eyes. He is usually seen wearing arm-sleeves. He is of average height and build.
During his time at Teikō Junior High, he wore the number 11.
History[]
Sekiguchi first appeared alongside others first players string, welcoming the arrival of Tetsuya Kuroko.[1]
Before the practice game against Nambara Junior High, he informed Shūzō Nijimura that he couldn't get in touch with Shōgo Haizaki.[2]
During the Nationals Junior High, Sekiguchi was mainly used as a substitute for the team and he eventually retired with Nijimura and Masaya Kubota.
Etymology[]
- The name Tōru means "pierce, penetrate" (徹).
- Tōru's surname Sekiguchi means "barrier, gate" (関) (seki) and "mouth, entrance" (口) (kuchi/guchi).
Trivia[]
- His name wasn't known until the fanbook KUROFES.
- In the anime, Sekiguchi's first appearance is replaced by Haizaki.
